Movements of Prana:

A local, weekend, Yoga retreat at Buffalo Gap

In this weekend workshop, we will take a deep dive into the concept of Prana and its 5 “winds” or “vayus” of Prana: Prana, Apana, Vyana, Samana, Udana. In understanding these movements of Prana within ourselves, we begin to better see our own connections to life force.

We will explore these movements of Prana through asana, pranayama, partner exercises and discussion in our exploration.

Some Yoga experience is helpful.

FAQ
1 - What is the level of practice this retreat is geared toward?

It is geared toward someone who has done some Yoga, but is not necessarily an advanced practitioner. Though we may work toward some advanced poses, there will always be options given for other levels.

2 - Can Beginners do this?

Beginners are welcome if they have some degree of body awareness, patience, curiosity and strength.

3 - Why are the Yoga sessions 2.5 hours? Why the longer sessions?

The extra time is really more about having more time to explain a concept, more time to warm up, stop the class for some partner exercises, pranayama or explanations, more time to cool down and to have a good length rest at the end. Sessions will not be 2.5 hour constantly moving flow classes!  The longer classes allow for more luxurious timing!
